Block heeled shoes are everywhere at the moment, and I for one, am quite excited about them. I have always thought that jeans with a heel look nice for a smart everyday look, but usually my feet cannot cope. Here, finally is the answer.
There are so many reasons to love the block heel
- they are chic and stylish
- they are comfy
- they can update an old outfit
- great for the evening too!
My favourite block heeled shoes are the Chloe scalloped edged Lauren shoe, but sadly these have been sold out for some time. However, there are other colours and other sizes, if you are happy to spend this much
Lauren scallop-edged block-heel suede pumps
£370
So, now I am thinking these lovely patent shoes with ankle straps from &other Stories. A lot cheaper than the Chloe ones! I am not sure which colour to get, so do I get both? There are lots of shoes with ankle straps in the shops - great if you have long slim legs, but go cautiously if not!
And Other Stories £79
These are almost an exact copy of the Valentino Tango patent shoes at £495
I loved these from LK Bennet but when I tried them on, they were actually quite high, and without the ankle strap, I found them quite difficult to keep on!
LK Bennett £250
Zara always has great shoes, at great prices. I love them, but unfortunately they don't do half sizes, so they don't work for me. These shoes are fab, but with the open sides, will not take you through to the colder months.
Zara mid heeled leather shoe with ankle strap £49.99
Or these,
Zara mid heeled shoe with contrasting toe cap £29.99
The toe cap is another new trend for the season
Silver shoes - yet another seasonal trend. I love these from Dune, £80
or for the Romantics...
The Daisy Street Flower Detail Point heeled shoe, £39.99 ASOS
Wow!
So, I know our grannies used to wear shoes similar to these (maybe not the Daisy ones!) but with culottes or your boyfriend jeans, these can look up to date, chic and glamorous whilst also being comfortable. So which ones will you go for?
Happy shopping
