As spring approaches and the weather warms up, why not bump up your wardrobe with the latest trends. Here are some top Spring trends you need to know about before you hit the shops
1. Trench coats
The perfect weight for Spring showers. Belt up by tying rather than buckling.
If you are larger busted, go for a single breasted coat, and if you have dark colouring, perhaps choose a navy coat.
2. Sweaters with detail on the back
Add a bit of interest to a sweater with some detail on the back. Choose from zips, ribbons, lace, open wrap, or buttons.
The sweater from Kookai is perfect with the ribbon and elbow patches.
3. Shirts with frills and ruffles
Add a bit of romance to your outfit with some frills and ruffles. This is a pretty blouse from M&S. However keep the frills to around the cuffs if you have a larger bust.
4. Stripes
Vertical, horizontal, diagonal, wide or narrow ... anything goes. Wear them on top, or on the lower half. Great on lean figures, but be careful if you are curvy.
This top from Boden is an easy wear.
5. Bomber jackets
Back from the 80's! Wear with a figure hugging dress or with cute capris. Go khaki, floral, or even sparkly to update your evening outfit.
Have a look in Zara, or this one from Next is stylish, with a nod also to the stripy trend.
6. Wide legged trousers
These look amazing on most figures, but be careful if you are petite. Choose plain, floral or even stripes. M&S have some wonderful patterned trousers, or House of Fraser have a good selection.
7. Off the shoulder tops
If there is one new shape you will see hitting the high streets, its the shoulder- less blouse. What to wear underneath? A super-strapless bra.
Best avoided if you have wide shoulders.
